COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS FOR THE AMERICAS, LLP CDPA is the sponsor organization of cultural, ecological and solidarity study tours to Latin America. CDPA is an association of international academic and professional experts offering community and economic development consulting to NGOs and impoverished communities in Latin America. CDPA works to implement poverty amelioration programs through sustainable economic development projects. Our main focus is on indigenous, rural and sub-urban communities throughout Latin America. CDPA strongly believes in CULTURAL PRESERVATION as a tool for sustainable community economic development CDPA is involved in projects with local communities in areas of cultural and ecological tours, agriculture, agro-technology, fisheries, artesanal mining, milk processing, organic farming and other productive areas. We place a special emphasis on areas related to communal economic development accompanied by cultural preservation. In that vein we favor programs in the areas of cultural and ecological tours, arts and crafts and cultural development. CDPA offers the highest level technical assistance as well as assistance in the procurement of socially conscious funding for the implementation of the projects. Our model is participatory consulting and we favor cooperative models of economic development where the wealth generated remains within and for the community. We wish to promote ecologically sustainable community development projects within a framework of peace, democracy, freedom and justice.
