6. CHOIRS, ART, PERFORMING ARTS, PHOTOGRAPHY AND
HUMAN RIGHTS/ SOCIAL JUSTICE Please visit our link in the left menu bar)
The program is music for human rights and
music as human rights. We will organize a set of performances by your students and we will have you watch a number of performances
by people in Argentina. The opportunity to sing for the poor, the workers, the peasants is something that your students will
keep with them for life and it is at the same time something the audiences will as well. Neither the poor nor the music we
bring, have any chance to encounter each other unless we organize it and put it together. This program also includes many
other activities as well as more conventional music activities.
The trip is all inclusive and Buenos Aires is a very
cultured city with great music venues all around. Please think of the possibility of doing this trip with us even if it meant
making some chances in your plans (I realize that this is easy for me to say). As I mentioned before, timing does play a role
in the successful implementation of this program. If you send us the particulars of what it is you are looking for in a trip
and would be interested in experiencing, I'd be more than happy to send you a detailed proposal for your consideration. I'd
also be happy to come over to speak with you, your colleagues and students about the topic of music and human rights and about
the meaning and value of the Madres University..
